Working principle
Laser welding uses a high-intensity laser as an energy source to selectively heat materials to a temperature between their melting and vaporizing points.
Once the materials melt they alloy and then re-solidify in a controlled atmosphere resulting in a reliable oxide-free weldment.
By adjusting parameters like laser energy and focal point position welds can be tailored from wide and shallow to narrow and deep with the geometry of the welded part typically determining this ratio.
